船で迎える誕生日 Birthday on cruise ship

船では約三年働いています。

いつも11月と12月から働き始めて夏に終わり数ヶ月の休みをもらって働き始める。

すると、秋はいつも日本にいることになり、10月の私の誕生日は日本で迎えていました。

今回は4月から働き始めたため初めての秋の地中海と誕生日を迎えました。

小学生の時に誕生日会などをする方もおられたでしょうが、私はそういう縁に恵まれませんでした。

私の働いている船は船員が350人程度という小さな村みたいなものです。

ですので、挨拶するかは別にして全員の顔はなんとなくわかります。

すると、私の誕生日を知った友人が「Happy birthday」と言うと、他の友人も言ってくれるというようなことが起こりました。

(フェイスブックの誕生日を知らせる機能と言うのは、こういう時に発揮されるんですね。初めて知りました。)

こんなに大勢の人からその言葉をかけられたのが初めてだったので、こちらとしては数字が一つ増えただけなんだとも思いながら、少し照れた誕生日でした。

I work on the ship approximately 3 years.

I always start to work from November or December and disembark in summer.

In autumn, I was in Japan in this 3 years.

It means I was in Japan during October that is my birthday month.

This time as I start to work from April, I spent my time in Mediterranean during autumn and birthday, too.

When you are primary school student, you might have birthday party, I didn't have such a opportunity.

The crews on my vessel is about 350. It like small village.

I understand everyone's face aside from whether I greet or not.

So when my friend who know my birthday said to me "Happy birthday", other friend also said to me. ( Facebook has the service to inform birthday through the mail. This works such a day. I felt first time.)

It was first time to be said in my birthday from many people. As for me, I just add the no. to my age but I felt to be shame a little bit.

It was my birthday in this year.
